I've taught or tutored for The Institute of Reading Development, The Catlin Gabel School, Education Unlimited, Grade Potential Tutoring, Varsity Tutors, and The Seattle International Film Festival. As a graduate of UC Berkeley in English, and a writer of fiction and screenplays, I love helping my clients to discover the joys of language and self-expression. My specialties as a student were British and American literature, but I delved extensively into philosophy, psychology and history as well. I've pursued my interest in these subjects to this day and enjoy including elements of them in my tutoring sessions. For more than fifteen years I was a top-rated instructor with Kaplan Test Prep, for whom I taught writing, reading, math, and critical thinking.

My other great passion is filmmaking. I have mentored middle-schoolers in filmmaking for The Seattle International Film Festival's Crash Kids program. Having earned my MFA in Filmmaking and Producing from the Seattle Film Institute, I am currently working on multiple film projects as a writer, producer, and director.
